Young Latino Philanthropists Initiative

The Latino Community Foundation of Colorado’s (LCFC) Young Latino Philanthropist Initiative (YLP) was started by a group of visionaries under 35 years old who want to make a difference in the Latino community by collectively pooling financial resources. Using the “giving circle” concept, these young visionaries are helping to grow leadership and philanthropy in Colorado. YLP is a new generation of philanthropists dedicated to tackling pressing issues in the Latino Community through culturally relevant giving. Money raised goes to Latino causes that are selected by the group. They will focus their funding on projects that demonstrate innovation and originality in addressing community issues through new approaches.

70 percent of Latinos in Colorado are under the age of 40. We need to harness their time, talent and funds to create a land of opportunity for Latinos.

– Mitchell Gonzales, age 29, LCFC Board Member
