HISTORY

Over a decade ago, a set of visionary Latino families and allies sought to establish Colorado’s first Latino foundation. Their dream was to create a culturally relevant philanthropic entity to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing the community. This vision was realized through the commitment of 17 families and several foundations who joined together to create the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC) as an initiative of Rose Community Foundation.

Through 2018, LCFC invested more than $5 million in communities throughout Colorado. We helped establish the groundwork for building strong Latino-led organizations and cultivating leaders. We educated Latinos about philanthropy and fostered an environment where they see themselves as givers and investors of social change.

In 2019, the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado launched as an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization in order to further expand the impact of the organization across the state. We continue our work and honor the seeds planted by our founding families, foundations, and our original home of Rose Community Foundation.
